Al Bustan Centre & Residence Pledges to Take Action on and Beyond ‘Earth Hour
Al Bustan Centre & Residence, the popular hotel-apartment among tourists and businessmen in the heart of Dubai, participated in Earth hour’s 12th anniversary on Saturday, March 30th 2019 and pledged to continue their support by initiating actions beyond the ‘Earth Hour’ to deliver real, tangible environmental outcomes.
The property switched off all the non-essential lighting and appliances at 08:30 pm for one hour to protect future generations from the impacts of climate change and the employees including staff and the senior management signed a pledge board to implement concrete steps in protecting the planet every day of the year.
The property also organized a fun activity for the guests and visitors to participate and showcase their commitment to create a lasting impact. Participants were challenged to draw something from scratch in the dark and once the lights were on, each participant showcased their artwork while others giggled and shared ‘can’t-believe-you-drew-that’ face.
Moussa El Hayek, Chief Operating Officer of Al Bustan Centre and Residence, said: “Each year, we participate in the annual awareness event as a sign of our commitment to sustainable energy for all. This year, we hosted a fun activity for our guests and visitors to participate and showcase their support towards climate change initiatives. Additionally, all our employees have pledged to initiate simple actions beyond Earth Hour to protect our environment for the future generations.”
