El Gouna Film Festival will host the world premiere of the film Gunshot by director Karim El Shenawy, where Malek takes part.
A few days after he took part in the Rising Stars programme at the 43rd Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the organizers of El Gouna Film Festival have selected young actor Ahmed Malek to serve as a jury member for the Short Film Competition of its upcoming edition.

El Gouna Film Festival will host the world premiere of the film Gunshot by director Karim El Shenawy, where Malek takes part.

This is not the first time that Malek serves as a juror, as he was previously chosen as a juror for the Realtime Competition of the Shnit Worldwide Shortfilmfestival.

Malek was selected as one of the eight fresh faces of TIFF's 2018 Rising Stars Programme that introduces acting talent who are poised for international success. This was his second selection in less than a year, as Screen International magazine picked him among the Five Arab Stars of Tomorrow during the 14th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF).

The TIFF 2018 hosted the world premiere of Ahmed Abdallah's film Ext. Night, where Malek is one of the leads.

Malek finished shooting his scenes for The Guest, which is directed by Hadi El Bagoury, written by Ibrahim Eissa, and produced by iProductions. The film is set to release in theaters soon.
