Jordan Ahli Bank Sponsors the Fifth edition of the Hakaya Festival

Jordan Ahli Bank recently sponsored the 5th Edition of the Hakaya Festival, adding another chapter to its long track record of sponsorships.

Organized by al Balad Theatre and the Arab Education Forum, the event was held between September 11th and September 17th, 2012. Presenting an exceptional array of theater performances and stories from across the region, the festival effectively combined knowledge, cultural exchange, and entertainment in one space.  

Jordan Ahli Bank's management explained that the sponsorship of this event falls in line with its belief in the art of storytelling as an effective tool for communication and an art form worth preserving.  Ahli Bank is considered a firm supporter of traditional and modern arts, as they are effective reflections of a country’s culture and heritage.

This year’s edition of the Hakaya Festival included workshops on the art of storytelling, and a two-hour session with a storyteller, while the “Hakaya meetings”, held on the sidelines of the festival featured a discussion about two research projects. The first research was conducted on “methodologies of transmitting the art of storytelling in some Arab countries” and the second was on “transforming life and folk tales into literary works”.

It is worth mentioning that Hakaya is a program that connects organizations, individuals and different groups that believe in the effectiveness of stories in the healthy growth of individuals and societies. Jordan Ahli Bank supports such beliefs.
