Summer semester courses started on Sunday at Abu Dhabi University, with 2,304 undergraduate and postgraduate students who have opted to skip the summer holidays and focus on their studies. Offered on the University’s Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses, the summer semester courses are divided into two terms with the first one running from 16th Jun to 13th July and the second term running from 21st July to 18th August.

Commenting on the growing trend of students enlisted in summer semester, Dr. Nabil Ibrahim Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University explained that over the years, it has proven to be a great opportunity for students. “Most students who have enrolled in summer semester are looking forward to increasing their GPAs and completing the number of courses they need to graduate early, or just want to reduce their study load for the upcoming academic year. To accommodate the growing demand on ADU’s summer semester courses, we’ve ensured that a wide range of courses are offered from each of our colleges”, added Dr. Nabil.

He added that this year, ADU has The University has allocated 234 classes (sections) for undergraduate program courses, and 16 classes for postgraduate program courses on Abu Dhabi campus, as well as 64 classes for undergraduate program courses and 6 classes for postgraduate program courses on Al Ain campus.

Commending ADU’s faculty and staff who are a central part of making the summer semester a success, Dr. Ibrahim added: “Many of our faculty and staff have sacrificed their summer vacations or reduced them to take part in summer semester. It’s such a testament of their dedication to students and to their mission of transferring knowledge”.

On his part, Bassam Murra Acting Registrar at Abu Dhabi University pointed out that although the summer semester is divided into two terms the final grades of the first term will be released on 20th July and the second on 24th August.
