ADM’ Undertakes Clean-Up Campaign in Mussafah, Al Mafraq to Mark Year of Giving

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has carried out a wide-ranging cleaning campaign in the Mafraq and Musafah industrial areas resulting in the collection of 22,500 tons of waste and construction debris where 43 vehicles and trucks were deployed. The campaign reflects the values of the initiative of the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, declaring 2017 as The Year of Giving. It is also part of the efforts of the Municipality and its strategic partners to control the negative aspects distorting the urban appearance of the city.

The cleaning campaign carried out in Al Mafraq Industrial Area in cooperation with Al-Faris International Foundation where 25 vehicles were used. It resulted in the collection of 12,500 tons of waste and construction debris, which is harmful to the environment and distorting the urban view. Works also include landfilling and levelling.

In Mussafah industrial area, specifically the M17 Sector, Al Jaber Transportation and Contracting, Al Rashid Transportation and Clearance, Al Sharafi Transport and General Contracting Est., and Desert Man General Transport and Contracting Company took part in the efforts of the Abu Dhabi City Municipality to remove such waste. They collected about 10,000 tons of waste and construction debris using 28 different types of machinery and equipment.

These campaigns, carried out in cooperation with the partners in the private sector, are in line with the Municipality's keenness to provide a safe and healthy environment free from distortions of public appearance. It is part of the implementation of Law No 2 of 2012 prohibiting a natural or juridical person to do any act undermining the public appearance or public health in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to preserve the civilised appearance of the city and create a healthy environment for all.

The Municipality’s efforts will continue in implementing the social responsibility values and enhancing the partnership with the partners for serving the community and the environment. It is part of services provided to the public in keeping with the urban upswing witnessed by Abu Dhabi.

The Municipality is thankful to the private entities for supporting this campaign and rising to their social responsibilities. It called for more cooperation and partnership with the private sector in carrying such constructive campaign for protecting the appearance of the city and nurturing a superb residential environment.

It called on strategic partner and community members to take part in the continuous efforts aimed at diffusing the positive values through developing ways and means for maintaining the cleanliness of public facilities and construction sites. It also called for enhancing the principle of cooperation and mass efforts in maintaining the public view of Abu Dhabi city and suburbs. It stressed the importance of continuing such endeavours to deliver quality services to the public everywhere and providing a safe and healthy living environment capable of improving the quality of living in Abu Dhabi Emirate.
