ADIB named “Best Islamic Bank in the Middle East” by The Banker Magazine

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a top-tier Islamic financial services institution, has been named the ‘Best Islamic Bank in the Middle East’ for 2013 by The Banker Magazine in recognition of the bank’s rapid growth and customer service.
ADIB was chosen for the award from a field that included some of the biggest financial institutions in the region. The award was presented to Abdullah Al Shahi, ADIB’s Head of International Expansion.
Commenting on the award, Tirad Al-Mahmoud, CEO of ADIB said: “We have made great progress in recent years in customer service, and we have also put ethics at the heart of what we do. This has resulted into rapid customer growth, and we believe we can expand further as people who have not necessarily been drawn to Islamic banking look to ADIB purely for our approach to banking. It is an honour that this has been recognized by such a reputable and specialist media organization as The Banker magazine”.
ADIB was recognised as the UAE’s best bank for customer service for the third consecutive year at the 2013 Bank Benchmark Index Awards organised by Ethos Consultancy. The bank has recorded a 13.3% rise in customer numbers in the last 15 months to exceed 550,000 active customers in the third quarter of this year.
ADIB’s latest awards follow a number of other awards that the bank has recently picked up including the prestigious Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award (MRM) in the financial services category, Best Islamic Financial Institution in the UAE for 2013 by Global Finance Magazine for the fourth consecutive year, and Best Islamic Bank in the UAE by Euromoney.
