ADAC hosts ORBIS Flying Hospital during Abu Dhabi Routes 2012

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) announced today that it will host the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital during Routes 2012, which takes place from 29^th September to 2^nd October at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre ADNEC. The converted DC-10 aircraft and the world’s only ophthalmic surgical and training hospital with wings will be on display and available for invited tours at Al Bateen Executive Airport.

ORBIS is a non-profit, global development organization whose mission is to decrease the rate of avoidableblindness in developing countries. ORBIS prevents and treats blindness by providing the tools, training, and technology necessary for local partners to develop their own capabilities in providing quality eye care services that are affordable, accessible and sustainable.

Commenting on this initiative, Eng. Ahmed Al Haddabi Chief Operating Officer at ADAC said: “As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, ADAC is committed to playing an active role in supporting such a global initiative to combat preventable blindness.
