Abu Dhabi University Ranks Third Globally in Quacquarelli Symonds’ World University Rankings 2018 for Its International Faculty Diversity

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has topped the ranks of Quacquarelli Symonds’ (QS) World University Rankings 2018 scoring third place on the International Faculty indicator, thereby surpassing approximately 26,000 universities globally based on the diversity of cultural and ethnic backgrounds of its faculty members. This makes Abu Dhabi University one of the top 2.8% universities in the world.

The ranking marks ADU’s second international achievement in 2017 after being ranking in Quacquarelli Symonds’ Top 150 under 50.

Addressing the achievement, H.E Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Chairman of ADU’s Executive Board, said: “ADU’s continuing success in earning national and international recognition for quality education and applied research is the result of its dedication to excellence which has always been a focal point of the University’s strategy. These accomplishments also reflect the vision of our wise leadership represented by H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as well as Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, for the UAE’s institutions to lead global competitiveness indicators in all fields.”

He added: “Our efforts also align with the ambition of H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and President of ADU’s Board of Regents, to establish the University as a pioneering higher education institution that sets new standards of excellence in quality teaching, cutting-edge scientific research and community service.”

QS World University Rankings is an annual publication by Quacquarelli Symonds. It is the only international ranking to have received International Ranking Expert Group (IREG) approval and is viewed as one of the most widely read of its kind.

The dream began with the Charter of Abu Dhabi University in the year 2000, After three years of planning, the university opened its doors in September 2003, to an entering class of 1,000 students on its two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
