Abu Dhabi University amongst Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world’s top 700 universities

Abu Dhabi University has achieved yet another academic accolade on the international higher education circuit, after having entered the ranks of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) top 700 world university rankings of 2014 -2015. For the third year in a row, ADU was chosen from among more than 3000 universities considered worldwide, and evaluated according to academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty to student ratio, citations per faculty, and international faculty and student ratio.

Commenting on this new accomplishment, H.E Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri Chairman of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Directors stressed that it confirms the ADU’s growing academic international standing, as well as translates the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership in pursuing top rankings in various global competitiveness indicators, especially those pertaining to higher education. “Although Abu Dhabi University is only in its 11^th year since its inception in 2003, it has certainly held its own in the prestigious world-renowned Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranking, being selected among the elite 700 from more than 3000 universities that were reviewed”, explained Bin Harmal. 

Further research into the QS methodology and ranking indicators has shown Abu Dhabi University to have scored amongst the coveted top 401+ in academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty to student ratio as well as citations per faculty. Bin Harmal pointed out: “We are also one of only 6 universities in the UAE to enter the QS world rankings, and this outstanding achievement confirms the global confidence in the success of Abu Dhabi University academic journey and is a strong incentive for more dedication in our pursuit of excellence”. 

Bin Harmal added: “Since its inception under the directives of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and President of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Regents; ADU has followed a distinct approach that separates it from other higher education institutes in the UAE. Through this methodology, the University has managed to achieve so many academic accomplishments that include providing an international educational environment for its diverse student body that embraces over 63 nationalities worldwide. We are very keen on advancing every year among the ranks of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). This is reflected clearly in the thoroughness with which we assess and update the quality of our academic programs, the international stature of the faculty we attract on a yearly basis as well as the excellence of ADU’s graduates who are pursued by international organizations in the country and the region”. 

On his part, Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University pointed explained that being one of the world’s top 700 universities for a third year in a row is the result of years of hard intensive work, and qualifies as an acknowledgement to the dedication and efforts of our faculty, staff, students and alumni.
