Abu Dhabi University announces new B.A in Arts, Culture and Heritage Management

Abu Dhabi University has announced the launch of several new academic initiatives during its participation in NAJAH Education, Training and Careers Exhibition 2012, including the launch of the Bachelor of Arts in Arts, Culture and Heritage Management, which has recently received accreditation from the Commission of Academic Accreditation at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Show-casing a wide variety of programs offered by its different colleges, University representatives introduced visitors of the exhibition to the 25 bachelor programs and 8 master degrees already offered at the University.

Dr. Nabil Ibrahim Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University stressed the University’s keenness in participating yearly in NAJAH and other exhibitions specializing in education, training and careers as its serves as a platform of communication with other higher education institutions and various business sectors throughout the UAE. He added: “The exhibition is also a great opportunity for students to be introduced to our diverse programs that have been designed to meet the needs of human resources and national development and the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030”.

Dr. Ibrahim explained that NAJAH 2012 also coincides with several academic milestones that Abu DhabiUniversity has recently achieved. “We have recently entered the ranks of the world’s top 550 universities in Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world university rankings of 2012 -2013, in addition to being the only higher education institution in the Middle East region to receive the recognition of “Inspirational Company” at the Bizz Awards 2012 by the World Confederation of Businesses (WORLDCOB)”, said Dr. Ibrahim.

“During our participation at NAJAH 2012, the University also launched the new B.A in Arts, Culture and Heritage Management which qualifies students to respond to the growing needs for experienced professional in this vital field especially with the emergence of the UAE as a cultural force in the region”, added Dr. Ibrahim. He pointed out that the program teaches students to identify, analyze and interpret a range of cultural practices and heritage environments of Islamic, Arabic and western traditions, articulate the discourses surrounding the best practices are in the national and international world of museums, galleries, heritage sites. The program equips students with the ability to apply these knowledge bases to the theory and practice of the management and administration of cultural infrastructure to the benefit of both national and international clients.

On his part, Dr. Ahmad Badr CEO of Abu Dhabi University’s Knowledge Group pointed out that as the Career and Talent Management partner at NAJAH 2012, ADUKG offered students visiting the exhibition career management services by qualified counselors who were on hand providing advice and guidance on the most suitable career paths and how to fast track themselves up the career ladder.
