Abu Dhabi University discusses enhancement of its educational and administrative processes with community strategic partners

Abu Dhabi University recently honored 12 community institutions and suppliers of various goods and services who represent some of the University’s esteemed strategic partners, for their excellence in collaborating with ADU throughout the academic year 2013 – 2014. Held during the University’s fourth annual “Supplier’s Award 2014”, the meeting provided a platform of communication that explored new methods of ensuring the delivery of quality services compatible with international standards to students, staff and faculty of Abu Dhabi University. 

Addressing several representatives of ADU’s community partners, Dr Nabil Ibrahim Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University stressed its keenness in organizing this annual meeting due to its vital role in exploring new areas of mutual cooperation with some of the University’s strategic and community partners in the public and private sector. “The Annual Supplier’s Awards is not only to honor excellence in providing quality services and products to the University over the past academic year, it also represents an opportunity for ADU to hear firsthand opinions and feedback on how to enhance our services with speed and accuracy to provide a perfect educational environment for our students”, added Dr. Ibrahim. 

“As our community partners, you contribute to the educational development of our students and nurturing their growth and advancement into responsible productive individuals through your continuous commitment in providing us with products and services with transparency, quality and accuracy in delivery”, concluded Dr. Ibrahim.   

On his part, Vice Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University Dr. Terry Motiuk noted that this annual initiative is part of the University’s ongoing commitment to its strategic partners, community institutions, suppliers and vendors who have collaborated with the University or provided top-quality services and goods throughout the past academic year, and in some cases these partnerships have lasted since the University’s inception in 2003. Dr. Motiuk added that this year’s celebration recognized the “crème of the crop” for their excellence in services to the University and its ever-growing family of students, faculty and staff on both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses, based on including quality, value, accuracy of delivery, reliability, customer service, and satisfaction.   

The honorees who garnered the top awards include Ayla Hotel and Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi in the Hotel and Banqueting category, with Future Printing Press dominating the Marketing Collaterals category followed by Vertex Trading. Top accolades were also presented to Bin Harmal Travel and Kanoo Travel in the Travel category, and EMW Computer Trading won in the Information and Communication category followed by Exceed Information Technology. 

Special awards were presented to both Al Faras Computer Consultants and McGraw Hill Education, while Graphic International and Aramex won for their continuous loyalty to Abu Dhabi University in the Long Partnership category.

The dream began with the Charter of Abu Dhabi University in the year 2000, After three years of planning, the university opened its doors in September 2003, to an entering class of 1,000 students on its two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Unlike other colleges and universities in the UAE, ADU undertook the measures necessary to ensure that all of the degree programs it would offer had secured accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in advance of any students enrolling in them.
