Abu Dhabi University entertains staff and faculty with cultural tourism program

Around 400 members of Abu Dhabi University’s staff and faculty from both its campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain recently participated in a cultural tourism and entertainment program, which included a safari in Al Khatim Desert, dune bashing, cultural and folkloric performances from countries around the world, ethnic cuisine, and traditional competitions.
Commenting on the culturally entertaining program, Dr. Terry Motiuk Vice Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University said: “ADU is always keen on fostering and nurturing a positive and encouraging work environment for staff and faculty. These activities promote team spirit, gives everyone involved an opportunity of reducing work related stress and breaking out of the mold of daily routine, which in turn fosters creativity and enhances our overall performance as well as strengthens our sense of belonging to Abu Dhabi University’s family. It was also a great opportunity for participants to explore the UAE desert as well as the true Arabian customs & traditions”.
Chair of the International Day’s organizing committee, Mirna Al Zaghni said: “Every year, Abu Dhabi University celebrates our multicultural community through different events and activities. This year, we collaborated with ‘Emirates Tours and Desert Safari’ to take staff and faculty on a unique experience that allows them to explore UAE heritage and traditions in a culturally entertaining ambience”.

Abu Dhabi University
The dream began with the Charter of Abu Dhabi University in the year 2000, After three years of planning, the university opened its doors in September 2003, to an entering class of 1,000 students on its two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Unlike other colleges and universities in the UAE, ADU undertook the measures necessary to ensure that all of the degree programs it would offer had secured accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in advance of any students enrolling in them.
