1,080 undergraduate and postgraduate students of Abu Dhabi University will be celebrating their graduation on the 12th of October at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Held under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and President of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Regents, the ceremony will induct 640 undergraduate students and 251 postgraduate students into the region’s specialized professional workforce. ADU’s 10th graduating class also includes 189 student cadets graduating from the University’s military programs, which are developed in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces General Headquarters.

The celebration will also commemorate the hard work of 297 students graduating with honors, of which 27 are from the College of Arts and Sciences, 141 from the College of Business Administration, 105 from the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences, and 24 cadets from ADU’s military programs.

Commenting on the significance of this celebration, H.E Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri Chairman of Abu Dhabi University’s Executive Board explained that it marks a new milestone for ADU as it coincides with the University’s second year in a second decade of academic excellence and creativity as evident by the University’s most recent achievements and initiatives.  “Perhaps the most prominent of ADU’s achievements is its success in receiving candidacy status for a period of 5 years from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). This effectively boosts ADU’s keenness to achieve internationally benchmarked standards of excellence and quality assurance in performance, teaching methods, academic programs offered and its relationship with the community. Thus translating the directives of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and President of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Regents and his keenness in ensuring that Abu Dhabi University becomes a global hub of higher education in the UAE and the region”, added Bin Harmal.

Bin Harmal went on to urge ADU’s 10th graduating cohort to keep in touch with their alma mater, and give back to the community that helped in their personal and professional growth, stressing that as graduates of Abu Dhabi University, they should always strive to be the best representation of its values. “Our pride in each and every one of ADU’s graduates cannot be expressed in mere words, and we are confident of their academic and professional skills that will enable them to play a positive part in meeting the needs of the United Arab Emirates’ national and economic development process”, concluded Bin Harmal.
