Abu Dhabi Municipality Undertakes Infrastructure Projects in Nahda Al-Askariyah, Bani Yas & Shawamakh

The Municipality is moving ahead with plans to carry out infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi and environs as part of Abu Dhabi's master development plan.

Abu Dhabi City Municipality has kick-started a project aimed at enhancing the infrastructure in seven areas, including Bani Yas East 3, Bani Yas East 2/3, Bani Yas East 5, Al Nahda Residential District and Shawamikh 6-11.

The Municipality is moving ahead with plans to carry out infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi and environs as part of Abu Dhabi's master development plan. The projects also reflect the keenness of the Urban Planning and Municipalities Department to upgrade the infrastructure of all cities and provide services tailored to cater to the rising urbanization and demographic growth rates and the significant economic & commercial witnessed by the city. This requires a world-class infrastructure that meets the sustainable development standards & supports the comprehensive renaissance drive taking place in Abu Dhabi at all levels.

These commissioned projects reflects the Municipality’s commitment to its corporate values aimed at continuously improving the quality of life in the city by executing such projects aimed at improving infrastructure in a way that realizes the aspirations of the community members and contributes to supporting sustainable development.

The projects currently in progress in these areas are being carried out in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Public Services Company (Musanada) at a cost of AED 103 million. They include renovating infrastructures, roads, lighting, low & high voltage works, besides constructing 9 new power stations and 179 residential units in these areas.

Works in these projects kick-started back in August 2016 and are expected to complete by the end of March 2018.

The project’s key features and specifications include building 7-km long roads, installing 194 lamp posts, and 5-km long sewage lines, besides extending fresh water lines by up to 9 kilometers in length, as well as power cables and road lighting up to 45 km in length.

The ongoing infrastructure projects will provide modern services capable of meeting the infrastructure needs and ensuring happiness & stability for all residents of these areas.
