Abu Dhabi Fund for Development Launches Third Cycle of Internal Excellence Award

Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), the leading national entity for development aid, today launched the third cycle of its Internal Excellence Award. In line with the Abu Dhabi government’s strategy to promote excellence across government and public sector institutions in the emirate, the award reaffirms the Fund’s commitment to encouraging innovation and creativity among employees with a view to increasing productivity.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, said: “Since its initiation two years ago, the Internal Excellence Award, has endeavoured to foster a culture of excellence among ADFD employees, and played a pivotal role in advancing the Fund’s progress in the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance.”
Addressing ADFD employees, he added: “I encourage all of you to participate in as many award categories as you can, set ambitious goals and find innovative ways to excel.”
For her part, Amira Al Ali, Manager of the Excellence Team at ADFD, explained the objectives and categories of the award, and the ways in which employees can participate. She noted that the third cycle has added a new category – Outstanding Innovative Employee – that recognises innovators whose ideas have increased the efficiency and effectiveness of the Fund or benefitted the UAE community.
Other categories include Outstanding Employee in Administrative Supervision, Outstanding Technical Employee, Outstanding Employee in Administrative Support, Outstanding Specialised Employee, Outstanding Long-serving Employee and Outstanding New Employee.
Since its inception in 1971, ADFD has financed development projects to the tune of AED80 billion in more than 88 countries around the world through concessionary loans and grants from the Abu Dhabi government.
