Abu Dhabi City Municipality Provides Free Health Examinations to Customers, Employees

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) has organised a health awareness campaign entitled "Blue Circle Campaign" in cooperation with The Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, and coinciding with the International Day of Diabetes. It focused on raising the diabetes awareness and prevention means as well as the provision of general medical examinations for customers and employees alike.

The event, which took place at the headquarters of the Municipality at Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Street, signals the keenness of Urban Planning and Municipalities Department to raise the community awareness of proper healthy habits, diffuse positive health standards and implement Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) system to ensure a healthy society. It also depicts the Municipality's strategy to improve the psychological and physical health of different community segments; which is consistent with the Municipal vision of ensuring a better quality of life for all.

The event reflects the values of social responsibility, which the Municipality is keen to uphold for all members of society in line with the government guidance to bring happiness to residents and provide all means of public health and positive environment.

The Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, which is known as the only Centre to have a 5 minutes test result, conducted free medical tests to measure the cumulative blood sugar stockpile during the event that generated considerable interest from customers and employees. A presentation was made to provide an overview of Diabetes, its main causes, and how to prevent it from maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality emphasised the role of strategic partners in supporting the Municipality's efforts in maintaining the public health and providing standard health and safety to community members. It has also stressed its commitment to achieving positive health for everyone, and the importance of diffusing food culture and the practising of physical exercises, which positively contributes to the public health.

The Municipality pointed out that it is continuing to introduce many awareness and guidance programs in this regard to spread the culture of occupational safety and health.

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality is committed to organising a series of events and activities in public health, to provide specialist guidance to raise public awareness about the importance of adopting new health patterns. It also organises workshops in partnership with health institutions and participates annually in health awareness initiatives such as the "Pink Campaign" to raise the awareness about breast cancer.

It runs sporting events and activities to encourage people to exercise, take care of public health and practice proper healthy habits along with good nutrition to maintain their health and nurture a healthy society in which everyone shares health and happiness.
