Abu Dhabi University’s College of Business Administration awarded AACSB international accreditation

Abu Dhabi University hit a new academic milestone with the College of Business Administration earning international academic accreditation from the prestigious "Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business –AACSB”, the global accrediting body for business schools offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
The College of Business Administration was awarded the international accreditation for its commitment in achieving standards that require a high quality teaching environment, active engagement with the industry and innovative programs, which elevates the College into the niche rank of the “Top Business Schools”, an honor bestowed on less than 5% of the world’s business programs.
Commenting on this new accolade, H.E Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri Chairman of Abu Dhabi University’s Executive Board explained that it doubles the University’s responsibility in keeping pace with world standards of excellence, quality assurance in performance, teaching methods and programs offered as well as cementing ADU’s relationship with the community. “The AACSB accreditation represents a qualitative addition to the journey of higher education in the UAE, and translates the directives of our wise leadership represented by H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President & Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, as well as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and their Highness’s keenness on achieving top ranks in global competitiveness indicators”, said Bin Harmal.
“Receiving this prestigious international accreditation also translates the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, President of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Regents. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan has always been eager to position Abu Dhabi University at the forefront of prestigious higher education institutions around the world. Especially as the University carries “Abu Dhabi’s” name, its namesake being a capital city that has recorded a unique model in cultural renaissance and development, thereby becoming a leading global attraction center in various areas of education, health, and economy”, pointed out Bin Harmal.
He added: “The accreditation also corresponds with ADU’s mission and its eagerness to develop academic programs benchmarked against the international standards applied by prestigious universities and accreditation bodies, as well as meeting the educational needs of the policy agenda of Abu Dhabi’s Government and its Economic Vision 2030. This accreditation has also been one of the main goals highlighted in Abu Dhabi University’s five -year strategic plan 2014 -2019”.
On his part, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University Dr. Nabil Ibrahim praised staff, faculty, students and alumni of ADU’s College of Business Administration for their active participation throughout the entire process of seeking the AACSB accreditation. “It was not an easy task. The process spanned over a period of 4 years and required arduous internal review, evaluation and development on every aspect of the College’s programs and operations. Hence, we are extremely proud that we managed to add such a significant achievement to our already ever-growing record of accomplishments”, said Dr. Ibrahim.

The dream began with the Charter of Abu Dhabi University in the year 2000, After three years of planning, the university opened its doors in September 2003, to an entering class of 1,000 students on its two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Unlike other colleges and universities in the UAE, ADU undertook the measures necessary to ensure that all of the degree programs it would offer had secured accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in advance of any students enrolling in them.
