Saudi Arabian Airlines purchased Cardiac Science PowerHeart’s automated external defibrillators (AEDs), portable life support and saving devices, which were delivered this week. The AEDs will be installed on all of the national carrier’s aircraft including the Royal Fleet, in its medical services centers throughout the kingdom and in the company’s headquarters.
In addition, Saudi Arabian Airlines, in coordination with the Saudi Heart Association sanctioned by the American Heart Association, has established their own CPR Center and will begin conducting the basic training programs for all of the airline’s flight attendants, in line with the mandate of the Federal Aviation Authority (FDA) this year.
The AEDs are widely used to treat sudden cardiac arrest patients in areas with large concentrations of people such as airlines and airports, hospitals and clinics, hotels, huge corporations, banks, gymnasium and fitness centers, private compounds, mining and petroleum companies, fire and police departments, etc…
