The plant construction contracts in the Middle East won by Japanese firms in fiscal year 2003 increased by 150 percent, according to latest figures released by Japan's trade ministry.
Overall value of overseas contracts also went up by 35 percent from a year earlier to US$ 18.9 billion, the data indicated. Of the contracts, projects in Asia comprised about 40 percent, or US$ 7.6 billion, followed by US$ 6.1 billion for Middle Eastern projects. (menareport.com)
