Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands has completed a joint project with the Al-Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi to refurbish three children's rooms. Philips fitted infant and toddler play and sleeping areas with curtains, furniture, toys and Philips audio-visual equipment to provide an entertaining, educational and comfortable atmosphere for children.
In two rooms to be used as play areas for young patients, Philips provided children's posters, shelves, books, tables and chairs, fun and educational toys of all types and sizes, Philips TV/VCRs, videos and television stands. The third room, a bedroom for young patients, was furnished by Philips with posters, toys and games, children's beds and infant cribs.
The renovation is the third that Philips has completed this year. In January, Philips renovated three areas in the pediatric ward of the Al-Wasl Hospital in Dubai and in September celebrated the re-opening of three refurbished playrooms at the Al-Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah. The work is done on an entirely pro bono basis.
