Philips recently presented first concepts to the Dubai Municipality and the Historical Buildings Section yesterday for a city beautification program that will instigate the creation of a lighting master plan for the historical Creek Elevations.

This seminar, organized in cooperation with Al Ghandi Electronics, agent for Philips products, was the first event towards an ongoing dialogue between Philips and Dubai Municipality to take this city beautification project forward.

Philips brought in global expert Senior Lighting Designer, Duilio Passariello, from the Outdoor Lighting Competence Center in France who presented alongside the Philips Lighting Middle East team on what can be achieved with the use of architectural lighting. A number of creek-side facades were illuminated to demonstrate the impact of creative and innovative lighting concepts.

Philips, has undertaken a number of lighting projects in the Middle East which includes part of the Dubai Internet and Media Cities, the four soccer stadiums in Dubai, the Abu Dhabi Cricket Stadium, fountain lighting of the Za'beel Palace and the lighting of the Abu Dhabi Trade Center so far the biggest fiber optic lighting project ever undertaken in the Middle East.

Philips Lighting products are found all around the world in a multitude of professional applications. For example, Philips Lighting products are used in 30 percent of offices, 65 percent of the world's top airports, 30 percent of hospitals, 35 percent of cars and 55 percent of football stadiums, including six in the Middle East. — (menareport.com)
