The Oslo-based Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) in co-operation with the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Oil and Gas (MOG), announced a new multi-client 2D seismic survey in the Gulf of Oman’s open Blocks 18 and 41.
The survey is a regional 2D grid covering the entire blocks 18 and 41 in water depths of 50-3,000 meters. The survey, which covers approximately 6,000 kilometers in size, will be tied into the existing seismic database. The acquisition will be carried out during the second quarter of 2002, and the acquisition in Block 41 was completed in mid May.
The final processed data will be available in October/November 2002. Additionally, 3,600 kilometers of reprocessed data covering principally the coastal region from 50-1,000 meters water depths will be available in the third quarter of 2002.

PGS acquires, processes and markets 3D, time-lapse and multi-component seismic data.
