The Pearl-Qatar, the US $2.5 billion offshore island and one of the most prestigious real estate developments in the Middle East, is expected to announce plans for a key agreement with a leading international retailer.
The announcement will take place at the Pearl-Qatar stand during the Cityscape exhibition to be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from September 17-19, 2005.
This follows the recent announcement of the second phase sale of all tower plots at Viva Bahriyah and the awarding of the first stage piling contract to Simplex Concrete Piles Ltd (India) in July.
The development’s General Manager for Retail, Hussam Ahmed commented: “This has been a significantly busy time for us here at The Pearl-Qatar. Major international brand names will be revealed during the signing ceremony on September 19 and we’ll be releasing Tower Plots in Viva Bahriya for the first time.
“Apartments and townhouses will also be offered for sale in Porto Arabia and Beach Villas will also be on offer. We’re entering a new phase where the pace of development and the levels of interest are both moving at an incredible speed. Visitors to Cityscape will notice that a lot has changed, in such a short time”.
All retail outlets are located in Porto Arabia on the beautiful 2.5 km water front walk at La Corniche. 1,600,000 square feet of retail space, including a multi-purpose community centre, are planned with room for 413 retail outlets and more than 14 anchor stores, exclusive of the community centre..
Speaking about the announcement of the piling contract Nick Bashkiroff, Development Director of The Pearl-Qatar said: “After a lot of consideration and careful inspection of all the tenders, we decided to award the contract to Simplex. The scope of work includes piling of Porto Arabia Town Houses, the retail development and Tower 4. Test piling has already been completed and ground breaking work will follow immediately.
“It’s another milestone in the Pearl-Qatar development with a tangible phase in the construction process. We’re forging ahead at an unbelievable pace and visitors to Cityscape are in for some genuine surprises.”
