Paris, a city favourite by Arab national travellers and the world’s number one tourist destination, is looking forward to a strong number of visitors from the Middle East region for France’s Bastille Day on the 14th of July.
Middle East travellers to Paris can now experience the ultimate luxury holiday at the award-winning Park Hyatt Paris – Vendome while taking part in the festivities celebrating France’s national holiday.
According to UNTWO’s “World Tourism Barometer,” France has held the number one tourist destination for over a decade, recording almost 80 million arrivals in 2006. “It’s no wonder why Middle East travellers choose Paris as their preferred city destination,” said Thierry Bertin, Area Director of Marketing - Middle East, Hyatt International Hotels and Resorts.
“On top of being the world’s most romantic city and the fashion capital of the world, Paris in the summer months is the favourite time for Middle East travellers to experience the very best in luxury and comfort while taking part in local festivities,” Bertin added.
The French Bastille day, also known as 14 Juille, officially celebrates the 1790 Fête de la Fédération, although it is more commonly associated with the Storming of the Bastille. Military parades, known as Défilés du 14 juillet, are held on the morning of 14th, the largest of which take place on the famous Champs-Élysées avenue in Paris before the President of the Republic.
Every year cities throughout France hold parades and picnics during the day followed by night time fireworks along with many dancing parties and social gatherings. Standing in a league of its own, the 178-room Park Hyatt Paris – Vendome is ideally located in the heart of Paris, on the famous Rue de la Paix, a short stroll from Place Vendome, the Opera House and the exclusive shops on Faubourg St. Honore. Additionally, the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay, as well as other major Paris landmarks are all in close proximity to the hotel.
Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme is honoured to be voted second best hotel in Paris and in Europe in the "Readers’ Choice Awards 2006" held by American magazine 'Conde Nast Traveler'. The Hotel’s prestigious awards received in 2006 include: The best hotel in Paris and Europe and second best in the world by the 'Institutional Investor', best hotels in the world list by 'Travel + Leisure', and best places to stay in the world (hotels, resorts and cruises) by Conde Nast Traveler’.
