The State General Budget for the year 2006 unveiled recently by the Omani minister of national economy, drew optimistic reactions from the Sultanate's financial sector. According to the Times of Oman, bank chiefs and financial sector managers project a well-balanced fiscal position for Oman in the current year.
As expected, bankers have warnly welcomed the budget and most of them were upbeat over the pro-development and economic liberalisation policies announced in the budget, the paper added.
