Official figures have indicated that the number of subscribers of telephone and internet in Oman during July 2005 made a slight growth compared to the same period in 2004. “The reason is the new services, promotions and reductions provided by the company”, a source from Oman Telecommunications Company said. According to these figures, subscribers of fixed telephones by end of July 2005 were 237,742 compared to 241,116 subscribers of the same period of 2004.
During July 2005, the number of the mobile telephone subscribers, provided by Oman Mobile, amounted to 243,069 subscribers compared to 247,033 subscribers in the same period in 2004.
Number of “Hayyak” service during July 2005 amounted to 762,288 subscribers, compared to 447,846 subscribers in July 2004.
