Oman: Real estate activity during August 2005

Real estate activity during August 2005 was put at some 33 million Omani Riyals ($85.7 million), reported the Omani newspaper Al-Watan on September 28, 2005. The total value of taxes levied upon these transactions peaked at 613,807 Omani Riyals, ($1,594,386).

 

According to the secretary of real estate registration in the Omani ministry of housing, electricity and water, Abdullah Bnu Salem Al-Mukhaini, the value of all the purchase contracts totaled OR 16.9 million ($41.5 million), exchange contracts totaled approximately OR 3 million ($7.7 million), and the value of mortgage contracts hit OR 13 million ($33.7 million).

 

Meanwhile, the number of new land plots registered for the first time, according to the type of use, totaled 5,970 land plots, while the number of real estate purchasers among GCC citizens reached 120 owners during the said period.
