The Omani Ministry of Housing, Electricity and Water and Oman Liquefied Natural Gas (OLNG) signed an agreement Monday to construct 50 housing units in the Sultanate’s different governorates and regions.
According to ONA, Saif bin Mohammed al-Shabibi, Housing, Electricity and Water Ministry Undersecretary for housing signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry while Dr. Agnos Cassin, LNG Company General Manager and CEO signed on behalf of the company.
The agreement provides that OLNG will donate RO500,000 to finance the construction of 50 housing units in Muscat and Dhofar Governorates and in Al-Sharqiyah region. The units will be directed to citizens who fit the criteria set by the housing assistance program sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Electricity and Water.
Al-Shabibi stated that the provision of the housing units comes within the context of OLNG firm belief in social solidarity (Takaful).
In his statement made to the local media, LNG General Manager and CEO said that the agreement falls within the company’s inclination to contribute to the socio-economic development cycle in the country through strong cooperation with the government pointing out that with this agreement the number of housing units financed by the company reaches 240 units constructed in the different parts of the Sultanate.
