The amount of government soft loans to the Omani private sector during 1981 to 2005 amounted to RO 245.546,04 million. According to ONA, these loans were granted to 552 projects in the industrial, tourism, health, educational and agricultural sectors.
Statistics published by the Omani Commerce and Industry Ministry have indicated that 250 projects were financed in Muscat Governorate, 110 in the Batinah region, 64 in Dhofar Governorate, 49 in the Sharqiyah region, 32 in the Dhahirah region, 29 in the Dakhiliyah region, 12 in the Wusta region and 2 in Musandam Governorate.
