A new joint marketing support agreement to distribute and market Galileo's Global Distribution System to Oman's travel agency community was signed in the Sultanate.
The Galileo GDS has provided Omani agents with the latest technology and travel services for many years through Oman United Agencies.
Oman Air will work with Emirates and OUA to promote the new system and make it the country's leading agency distribution channel. Oman Air, OUA and Emirates will upgrade the system to the latest IT platform, speeding response times and offering access to Galileo's full product range, including the latest version of Viewpoint, its graphical user interface (GUI).
Oman Air will urge its agents to make wider use of Galileo, benefiting its stakeholders and customers alike. The deal will give Oman Air a more economical distribution channel and ensure its agents benefit from Galileo's product range.
Galileo International is a wholly-owned subsidiary with the Travel Services Division of Cendant Corporation. Since 1991, it has been a preferred system distributed to Middle East travel agents, internet travel web-sites and tour operators by the ARABI group of airlines, part of the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO), the regional association of Arab airlines with bases in the Arab League of States. — (menareport.com)
