Two Muharraq Municipal Council members on Tuesday expressed their objections to lists submitted by the council to the Bahraini Works and Housing Ministry for houses earmarked for King Hamad Project for Dilapidated Houses. According to the GDN, council vice-chairman and services and public utilities chairman Dr Mubarak Al Junaid and financial, administrative and legislative committee chairman Isa Al Majid described the submission of the lists as a violation of the council's by-laws.
Under the Royal scheme, 6,000 homes from all over the kingdom will be renovated or razed and rebuilt over five years, at a cost of BD90 million to BD120m.
