NSI Global, an international provider of satellite-based communications systems, announced that its wireless Globalwave asset management and monitoring system is now fully operational in the Middle East and North Africa, through DataStar, NSI's regional operating partner.
With the implementation of the system, NSI's Vistar Telecommunications division has received an order for 500 GlobalWave MT2000 satellite data communication terminals from DataStar. The terminals are to be shipped before the end of March.
Abdulrahman Al-Shathry, chairman and CEO of DataStar, said "DataStar is building a strong regional network infrastructure that will allow companies to economically monitor, track, and exchange messages with their remote assets in their home country or anywhere throughout the Middle East or North Africa at a moment's notice via geo-stationary and GPS satellites.”
The company aims to take advantage of regional opportunities, particularly in industries such as oil and gas and transportation. The company intends to provide the service directly and through value-added resellers in the region.
DataStar Ltd., a privately held company based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is licensed to provide two-way satellite data messaging services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The center is in direct communications with Inmarsat's IOR-3 Indian Ocean satellite by way of Saudi Telecom's Land-Earth Station located near Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Headquartered in Montreal, NSI has offices or representatives in all major international markets. NSI's common shares are traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange — (menareport.com)
