The Ninth Islamic Trade Fair and the Ninth Private Sector Meeting of the Islamic Countries will be held at the Sharjah Expo Centre on December 21. Aiming at strengthening cooperation and developing trade relations among Islamic countries, some 21 investment projects will be offered at the event.

The fair is organized in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Commerce, the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce.

To be attended by approximately 30 ministers and the chairman of the Organization of Islamic Congress (OIC), the trade fair will showcase 600-800 exhibitors and joint-venture opportunities. The UAE will have a 1,000 square meter pavilion.

Sharjah is considered the industrial backbone of the UAE with 40 of the total number of industries in the Emirates based there. The UAE has no trade barriers, no restrictions on imports, no corporate taxes or income taxes, only four percent import duty and unhindered repatriation of profits.
