Cairo's Nile Ritz Carlton hotel will open its doors in July, a source working in the hotel's human resources department told Ahram Online.
Since 1959, the hotel, located across Tahrir square, has been operating as a Nile Hilton. In 2011, Hill International received a contract from Misr Hotels co. to manage the renovation of the soon-to-be inaugurated hotel.
According to the Hill International website, the project was constructed on an area of roughly 64,000 square metres, costing EGP 600 million ($78 million).
"Works included renovating the existing main building, which housed 331 guest rooms/suites and public areas; demolishing the office extension building and shopping mall; constructing a new conference/ballroom, and adding an underground parking garage," read the website description of the hotel.
