A new social service facility is due to open in Alexandria in the near future, according to Egypt’s State Information Service. The complex will provide a wide range of community services, including a center training young women in cottage cheese manufacturing, a computer center for some 550 trainees, a library and a daycare center.
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will discuss his government’s internal and foreign policies with university students in Alexandria next week, reported Al-Akhbar. The president will respond to questions by a selected group of the students attending a young leaders training course, under the supervision of the Higher Education Ministry
Funds for the project are to be provided by the Integrated Care Society, chaired by the first lady, Suzanne Mubarak. Mrs. Mubarak will chair the Egyptian delegation to a UN summit on aid for young people next month. — (MENA Report)
