The Municipality of Tabarjal City in northern Saudi Arabia recently finished the first phase of a drinking water project as the cost of 2.9 million Saudi riyals ($773,000), reported KsaToday daily. Saudi Arabia, which suffers a lack of water resources, currently operates one of the world’s most developed water desalinations systems.
There are 24 desalination plants in the Arabian Gulf and Red Sea coast, providing approximately 520 million cubic meters of water daily, or 30 percent of worldwide production of desalinated water. These plants satisfy nearly two thirds of the Kingdom’s water needs. ― (MENA Report)
