Egypt's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for fiscal year 2003- 2004, which ended in June went up by 4.3 per cent over the previous fiscal year, a report released by the Central Bank said Tuesday.
According to the report, agricultural, irrigation and fishing sectors grew by 3.3 per cent in the same fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the mining and industrial sectors grew by 3.35 per cent; the electricity sector grew 7.1 per cent; water rose 5.7 per cent; building and construction were up 2%; the transportation sector recorded 3.2 per cent growth; and Suez Canal revenues increased by an impressive 9 percent, the report added.
