ALDAR Properties PJSC has announced that its new office development -- formerly known as the MDC-ERWDA building -- is now officially named "Al Mamoura". The building is located near the Ministry of Information and Culture in Abu Dhabi.

Reflective of its position as a state of the art building, "Al Mamoura" will be the new headquarters for Mubadala Development Company, the UAE Offsets Group, and the Environment Agency of Abu Dhabi (formerly ERWDA). ALDAR also announced that the building is fully let to other premier blue chip tenants who sought a world class address in the Capital.

Chairman of ALDAR, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, said: "This building will demonstrate to the market that the highest standards of architecture, design and construction are now a pre-requisite for property development in the growing Abu Dhabi real estate market."

Construction started in June 2005 on a fast track programme. To date, all piling works and pile testing are completed, the basement slab for the office building is in place and work has already begun on the ground floor. Excavation for the adjacent car park and laboratory has also begun and construction is on schedule for completion in early 2007.

Comprising some 60,000 square metres, Al Mamoura will feature the very latest in building technology, amenities and services for tenants. Designed by the international architectural firm of Jung Brannen Associates of Boston/USA, Al Mamoura will provide International Grade A1 specifications throughout its 12 levels of open plan office accommodation.

A key feature of Al Mamoura will be its impressive Arabesque heritage style entrance, leading to a stunning atrium that will feature an indoor garden and provide a spectacular welcome to the building.

The working environment will be complemented by outstanding support facilities including a health club, restaurant, nursery, convenience shop, 150-seat auditorium for conferences/ seminars/ training, a library and prayer rooms. Adjacent to the office building will be a 25,000 square metre facility designed to meet the car parking requirements of occupiers and visitors with a capacity of more than 500 cars.
