The Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) and the International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E) announced that they are teaming up to stage an international trade show that they hope will become the region's largest exhibition for the global entertainment and media industry.
Conceived by Dubai Media City (DMC) to support the fast-growing global media activity in Dubai, the exhibition—branded the Global Entertainment and Media Exhibition (GEMEX)—will showcase new technologies, products and innovation from the entire spectrum of media and entertainment industries.
DWTC's existing show, the Cable, Satellite, Broadcast and Telecommunications Exhibition, CABSAT, which celebrated its eighth season this year, will be completely integrated into GEMEX and will be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Center March 4-6, 2003.
“With the rapid growth in global media and entertainment activity in Dubai, we felt that there was a need for a high-profile event that will support the industry's burgeoning needs to showcase their products and services,” said Ahmad Bin Byat, director general of the Dubai Technology, E-Commerce and Media Free Zone.
GEMEX will make its debut at the Dubai International Exhibition Center from March 4-6, 2003.
The event will focus on eight media segments: Print and Publishing, Communication Services, New Media, Music, Production and Post Production, Film, Entertainment and Broadcast (including Cable, Satellite and Telecommunications equipment). — (menareport.com)
