Jordan-based ArabBrazil, the consulting company promoting Arab-Brazilian trade, is to open a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) headquarters in Dubai. The move will see the Dubai office operational in January 2003.
“Since we began operations in Jordan just over 18 months ago we have seen a marked improvement in the number of Brazilian exports coming to this region. Brazilian beef exports to the Middle East have increased by 241 percent while the number of poultry imports have more than doubled,” said General Manager of ArabBrazil, Nasser Kader.
“We have had particular success in countries such as Syria and the UAE where we have seen imports to these countries rise by 173 percent and 144 percent respectively….from January to December 2001, Brazil has recorded a total of $2.2 billion in exports to Arab countries,” said Kader.
ArabBrazil's Dubai operation will initially comprise five people, including a promotions team as well as a dedicated researcher. The new ArabBrazil office will service the GCC acting as an agency for commodities, a service center for visiting Brazilian companies and as a point of reference for business enquiries into the array and availability of Brazilian products. — (menareport.com)
