BJ Services has announced that Hassan Farshbaf has been appointed country manager for Algeria with the Well Services Division-Europe and Africa Region. In his new role, Farshbaf oversees all aspects of operational, financial, and business development initiatives in Algeria on behalf of the division.
Farshbaf, 51, joined BJ Services in 1992 at which time he facilitated BJ's entry into the Iranian market. He was responsible for selling equipment and materials to NIOC, the National Iranian Oil Company. In 1993 he was appointed marketing and operations manager for the Middle East region, and transferred to Dubai where he was responsible not only for financial and operational issues in the region, but for marketing BJ Services' range of well services in Iran, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
During this period, he also oversaw safety, personnel and operational issues for all countries within the Middle East region. Before being appointed to country manager Algeria for Well Services, he served as area manager for Central Asia. Originally from Tabriz, Iran, Farshbaf immigrated to Canada in 1989.
