New cement factory to be built in Iraq

Kurdish businessman, Mr. Mustapha Rasoul announced that a new cement manufacturing factory will be built in the Iraqi region of Kurdistan in the second quarter of the current year. Mr. Rsoul added that the Farouq Mustapha Group of Trading Companies, the Dleir Sayed Majeid Group of Companies and Orascom Construction Industries Company (OCI) had received a permit to build the new plant with a capacity of 2.5 million tons per annum.

 

According to <i>Al Sharq al Awsat</i> newspaper, the businessman estimated the project's cost at $300 million.

 

It is planned to meet the demand for cement in Kurdistan area, he added.
