AS BS7799/ISO17799 IT Security policies continues to be widely recognized throughout the world, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Middle East are preparing to join the 30 or more countries who have already embraced the standards.
ELERT BS7799 Event Director Claire Winfield said “Achieving compliance with BS 7799 is a substantial task. Assessing compliance levels for information systems, then creating and implementing the necessary plans to become fully compliant, can by a very intensive process indeed”.
“With compliance of BS7799 being far from a trivial task, even for the most security conscious of organizations, it is encouraging that we have had an unprecedented number of delegates registering for the event from the UAE, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) the Middle East, Europe and worldwide” said Winfield.
ELERT BS 7799 will take place September 22-23, 2002, at the Fairmont Hotel and the Tech Access iForce Center, Dubai Internet City. The conference will introduce the main sections of the standard that include Security Policies, Organization, Asset Classification and Control, Personnel, Physical Security, Communications, Access Control, Development, Continuity and Compliance. — (menareport.com)
