The Omani Minister of Commerce and Industry, Maqbul Bin Ali Bin Sultan, confirmed that the Sultanate of Oman is planning to set up an aluminum smelting project in Suhar, reported Al-Hayat . The Minister added that several foreign investors are interested in participating in the project. The Omani investment law permits foreigners to contribute up to 70 percent of the capital of any investment project in the Sultanate.
