The company stated that the implant will be done through a device designed to enable paralyzed individuals to control digital devices. In January 2024, Neuralink successfully tested the chip by implanting it in the brain of a 29-year-old patient.
Canada's University Health Network, a public research and teaching hospital system in Toronto, announced that Toronto Western Hospital will be the first to conduct the implant trial.
Kevin Smith, chief executive of Canada's University Health Network said: “We are incredibly proud to be at the forefront of this research advancement in neurosurgery.”

It is worth noting that Neuralink previously implanted chips in two patients in the US, both were able to play video games and learn to design 3D projects.
