NBK Kuwaitization rate raised to 56%

The National Bank of Kuwait Group (NBK) Group, the leading bank in Kuwait and the highest rated in the Middle East, announced that it has received more than 500 resumes and job applications from Kuwaiti young male and female candidates expressing their interest to join the bank in response to a successful nationwide and full-fledged recruitment campaign recently launched by the bank to encourage Kuwaiti youth to join NBK.


Commenting on the importance of NBK's recruitment campaign and the overwhelming response it had received, NBK Deputy CEO Adel Al Majed said that the large number of resumes and applications NBK has received from Kuwaiti young males and females job seekers expressing their interest to join the bank is reflective of the reputation NBK enjoys as the employer of choice for Kuwaiti nationals and underlines their trust in the bank's promise of a prosperous career.

 

Al Majed reiterated that NBK is totally committed to providing sustainable career opportunities for young Kuwaiti nationals, adding that "It is our duty and part of our corporate social responsibility to ensure that young qualified Kuwaiti males and females are fully empowered to contribute towards national development".

 

"Our recruitment campaign is aimed at encouraging young nationals to assume roles in the Kuwaiti private sector" he stated. " We are inviting the brightest, talented and skilled Kuwaiti college and university graduates to join NBK. We help them to make the most of their abilities by providing top-quality training and work environment that is supportive and encourages everybody to realize their potentials, particularly during current times of economic adversity".

 

Al Majed  said that NBK is currently in the process of evaluating and screening the applications and selected candidates will be notified in due time of their appointment within the Group, adding that NBK is well set  to launch similar recruitment campaigns at regular intervals as part of its ongoing efforts to boost Kuwaitization and support social empowerment.   

NBK, which is one of the largest private sector employers, has recently announced that 121 Kuwaitis joined the bank since January 2009, raising the Kuwaitization rate to 56% of the bank's total workforce: one of the highest percentages among local banks.

 

In addition to boasting the largest local branch network comprising 69 branches in Kuwait, NBK has over 4000 professional employees and the largest and widest overseas banking network encompassing 155 branches, representative offices and subsidiaries located within 17 countries spread over four continents world wide, including 10 countries in the Middle East.
