Muharraq residents are growing impatient waiting for new building regulations against Peeping Toms using high-rise blocks to spy on women in their homes. According to the GDN, the rule to install one-way windows that prevent people from seeing out was approved by the Muharraq Municipal Council in January.
However, it is still being reviewed by the Municipalities and Agriculture Ministry, which must take a final decision on the issue.
According to the new rule, landlords will not be allowed to install electricity in new tower blocks unless the building has one-way windows. Others who have existing buildings will be forced to have one-way windows if their neighbours complain to the Muharraq Municipality that they are being spied on.
