The President of Egypt, Husni Mubarak, has recently expressed his opposition to the carrying out of the second and third stages of the sales tax plan and has decided to discontinue these stages for the meantime.
According to Xinhua news agency, this issue has been redirected to the parliament for additional assessment.
These successive stages were aimed at increasing the range of companies regarded within the framework of the tax-plan. The suspended measures particularity applied the plan to retailers and wholesalers.
A final list of all services and products to be included in the new tax-program will be revealed by the Egyptian parliament shortly. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
