MTC’s net profit up 14 percent in 1Q 2003

Kuwait’s Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC) recorded a revenue jump of 19 percent and a profit increase of 14 percent in the first quarter of 2003 over the same period last year.  

 

"Our total revenue has increased by 19 percent to 38.15 million Kuwait dinars ($128 million) and we have been able to increase our net profits to KD 23.1 million compared to last year. Our Fastlink operation in Jordan has also shown a revenue increase of 87 percent to KD 59.9 million, with a net profit increase of 30 percent to KD 26.2 million as compared to the same period last year,” commented Director General of the MTC Group, Saad Al-Barrak. 

 

MTC was established in June 1983 with the mission of providing mobile telephone and paging services in Kuwait on a commercial basis. Starting with a subscriber capacity of only 30,000, MTC now serves over 600,000 customers in Kuwait. — (menareport.com)
