Morocco and Canada may soon conclude a cooperation agreement in electronic post, a system of electronic distribution that the Canadian posts company has devised for telecommunications and transactions.
The decision was formalized at meetings held in Canada's capital, Ottawa, between Moroccan Secretary of State in charge of posts and information technologies, Larbi Ajjoul, and Canadian Minister of Public Works and Government Services, Alfonso Gagliano, and General Manager of Canadian posts company, Andre Oullet.
Mr. Ajjoul examined with Canadian officials the prospect of applying this e-post system, which is guarded by an improved coding technology, to money transfers made by Moroccans residing in Canada.
The parties agreed to launch the feasibility study of the project before meeting in Rabat to conclude an agreement, which will include other aspects of cooperation.
The Moroccan official, who visited Canada last week, also met with officials
of Nortel and Newbridge Networks, two Canadian telecommunication giants. (albawaba.com)
